The Yoga & Mindfulness Wellness Guide, created by the Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program (YMTP²) is a tool that you can use to help ensure that yoga and mindfulness are an active and authentic part of your school community. Meaningful integration of yoga and mindfulness into your day has the ability to transform the school experience in a vast array of positive ways. These outcomes can impact students, staff and families alike.
January
Intention
The focus of January’s yoga and mindfulness practices and resources revolve around the theme of Intention. Unlike goals which are often specific and measurable, intentions are the motivational force that drives us to meet and achieve our goals. The mindful breath practice the Ocean Sounding Breath, is a practice that allows you to explore an audible an internal anchor that can assist you through overcoming challenges.
The accompanying yoga practices this week, Warrior Flow, is a series of powerful postures that provide inherent opportunities to practice perseverance, manage discomfort, and celebrate your strength.
Both of these practices have the capacity to help build and strengthen the power of intentionality, both on and off the yoga mat.
